About us: Flaming Gargoyle Pottery is a small studio specialising in medieval reproduction and medievally-inspired ware, dragons and gargoyles. Our specialties are German salt-fired stoneware of the 14th-16thC and 12thC Sgraffito pottery from the Byzantine Empire. A range of Viking, Persian and English 14th-15th pottery is also produced. Custom orders are welcome and cheerfully accepted. All pots are reproduced in stoneware with the exception of the cookware . The Studio was established in 1988 and is based in Murrumbateman NSW, Australia. In 1999-2000 we spent a year in Ottawa, Canada and was producing work out of the Nepean Visual Arts Centre. Alex has also run a range of classes and demonstrations within local schools and cultural festivals within the Canberra region, usually catering for about 15-20 children for an hour including materials. Please contact us to for prices. Since 1991 we have been active members of the Barony of Politarchopolis, which is the local branch of the SCA . We are also regular merchants at The Abbey Medieval Tournament in Caboolture Qld, the Melbourne Medieval Fayre and Tournament in Berwick Vic and the Rowany Festival.
